Personal Growth and Well Being

“There are no wrong roads to anywhere” as stated by Wayne Dyer in has podcast of “I Can See Clearly Now.”  What a beautiful quote.  According to Dyer and many other philosophers, theologians and spiritual leaders the life path of each person is already created prior to birth,  The paradox is, however, that a person’s life is a combination of the life choices each person chooses to make. How can both of these foundational beliefs be simultaneously true.  This dates back to the long held debate between determinism versus free will.  Earlier theorists took the stance that one position overrode the other. Other believers saw the interconnectedness of both free will and fate. From a universal perspective fate or a life already planned is indeed the foundation of a person’s life path.  At the same time, day-to-day living is a compilation of ongoing choices.  Once a person is able to understand this paradox, he/she they plays a role in making his/her/their own tapestries of life.  A person has the choice, as to how all the intricate threads are woven together to design a” life worth living.”

What do you believe?  How responsible are you for your thoughts, feelings and/or behaviour?  Do you accept responsibility for your life, or, do you occasion project outwards?  One of the hardest concepts to accept is that life is “never about the other person.”  It is about the “I” projecting insecurities onto others.  The choices a person makes from minute to minute are fulfilling his/her/their mission in life.  Who nows when the hands of a person’s clock with stop. If this is a universal truth, it is important to take each day one at a time.  Better yet, enjoy each moment.  As the saying goes, “It is important to stop and smell the roses.”  A practice I am trying to embed into my own life.
